London-Lund Corpus,Survey of English Usage,the Birmingham Corpus of English Texts 並把英語中感謝的最基本形式Thank you/thanks的主要作用概括如下:(Thank you/thanks是最基本的詞語,在此基礎上可以進行增補和加強,以顯得更禮貌,如:“Thank you very much indeed”,“Thanks ever so”)

ⅰ承認得到好處;

ⅱ遞給自己東西,認可得到好處;

ⅲ提前表達感謝(如服務,主動提供,許諾等);

ⅳ不再需要某人或某人的服務;

ⅴ接受會話結束的標誌(特別是電話中);

ⅵ會話結束(nstein & Bodman,1986;1993);

ⅶ接受主動提供;

ⅸ結合不同的音調,可以表示懊惱,譏諷,挖苦和唐突無禮(nstein & Bodman,1986;1993;Okamoto & Robinson,1997);

如:“Thank you for not smoking”——請求聽話者不要抽菸。 (根據Aijmer(1996)整理)

Conductor:Thank you.(遞票時)

Passenger:Thank you.(接過票時)

Conductor:Thank you.(結束對話)

(1)A:Thank you so much. B:That’s all right.

A:Thanks a lot. B:Not at all.

(2)A:Excuse me please. B:That’s all right.

A:I’m sorry. B:Not at all.

(Coulmas,1981:72)

No, No;Just so so;Not good.

之後加 all the same, just the same, anyway之類的話。

Thank you.

Gratitude Is...

Written by Macatena Lovemore

感謝我愛的人和愛我的人,使我的生命不再孤單;

Gratitude is appreciation for people, places, and things,

感恩是一種欣賞,一種對人,對景、對物的欣賞;

as well as, for ideas, qualities, and feelings

Gratitude is thankfulness, and I use it like a key

A key to inspire strangers, my friends, and me

A key to life that sets me free

A key to heal insult and injury

To be grateful means you are thankful for and appreciative of what you have and where you are on your path right now. Gratitude fills your heart with the joyful feeling and allows you to fully appreciate everything that arises on your path. As you strive to keep your focus on the present moment, you can experience the full wonder of “here.”

There are many ways to cultivate gratitude. Here are just a few suggestions you may wish to try:

1. Imagine what your life would be like if you lost all that you had. This will most surely remind you of how much you do appreciate it.

2. Make a list each day of all that you are grateful for, so that you can stay conscious daily of your blessings.

Do this especially when you are feeling as though you have nothing to feel grateful for. Or spend a few minutes before you go to sleep giving thanks for all that you have.

3. Spend time offering assistance to those who are less fortunate than you, so that you may gain perspective. However you choose to learn gratitude is irrelevant. What really matters is that you create a space in your consciousness for appreciation for all that you have right now, so that you may live more joyously in your present moment.
