最近，我讀了一本叫《百萬英鎊》的書。讀完後，最大的感受是：金錢不是萬能的。
?百萬英鎊》講述了一個美國窮小子在倫敦的一次奇遇。倫敦的兩位富翁打賭：把一張無法兌現的百萬鈔票給一個窮人，看他在一個月內會不會被捕。很快，一個月到了，亨利不僅沒有被捕坐牢，並且還有了家庭，過上了天倫之樂的生活。
讀完這本書後，我覺得書中的衣服店老闆以及其他各種的老闆都很可笑：就因爲一個人有了一張百萬鈔票，並且還是無法兌現的，那些老闆就免費爲亨利服務。但我想：如果我是老闆，那麼我會拒絕爲他的一切服務。因爲那張百萬鈔票是無法兌現的。老闆們爲他服務了，可自己卻什麼都得不到，難道爲他服務只爲了看一眼他那不屑一顧的表情和他那張可以說是“什麼價值都沒有”的百萬鈔票嗎？我認爲不值得。因爲我覺得在某種程度上爲別人服務是需要報酬的。
可反過來再想想，那時的社會主義是拜金主義的，所有的人都崇拜金錢，所有的人都像中了魔法似的熱愛金錢。

從這個故事中我懂了：在現實的生活中，不應該把金錢看得太重。有時候金錢雖然能買到自己喜歡的、心愛的東西。但有些時候金錢也買不來做人的基本道德，買不來時間。

based on mark twains novel， the millionaire pound note takes an interesting satirical look at the hypocrisy stemming from class distinction in the 50s england. england is a country where class and wealth are given extreme significance， especially among the rich. the film shows the hypocrisy that existed among these people， how the rich are quick to change face when in an instant they find out that youre a man of wealth and how within the next moment they revert back to their condescending selves when all wealth is lost. interestingly， the millionaire also briefly looks at how the english perceived americans in that era. rich americans were weled as outsiders and the poor were quickly shunned away. the fact that hes an outsider either makes him more appealing or the plete opposite. the story sticks to the main theme by emphasizing on the hypocrisy of the upper class society but at the same time it also creates a balance that prevents the movie from being a mockery of the british society. the movie drags at some point but the love story appears at the right time and there is plenty of edy to keep one entertained.
a charming gregory peck totally nails the part and the luminous jane griffiths is a treat. reginald beckwith， as pecks sidekick rock is amusing. the ending is a little predictable but the director does an overall good job by rounding it up and presenting his points.
