最近的英語麥克風很喜歡引用美國歷史名人的演講，昨天是羅斯福，今天是肯尼迪的演講，而明天則是馬丁路德金了。
We observe today not a victory of party but a celebration of freedom – symbolizing an end as well as a beginning -signifying renewal as well as change. Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, thatwe shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty. The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it – and the glow from that fire can truly light the world. And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.
金句發音講解
Pay和any連接的時候在[ei]和[e]之間會增加一個[j]的音，讀的時候還要注意any是小嘴[e]而不是梅花音[?]；
Bear和any也是增音連讀，英音[be?]詞尾的[?]和[e]之間在連讀時會增加一個[r]的音，而美音[b?r]就沒有這個問題，直接做輔元連讀就可以了；
Burden的英音發音中['b??d(?)n]的[?]可省略，而美音重['b?dn]則沒有這個元音；
meet any和support and輔元連讀，可以濁化後連讀，也可直接清輔音連讀，根據個人習慣，在口腔放鬆的情況下[t]可以濁化發音；
hardship裏面的[d]可以失爆，至少讀的時候不要讀的太重；
oppose any輔元連讀；
survival[s?'va?vl]裏面的雙元音[ai]是需要儘量誇張發音的，而詞尾的舌側音不要讀成兒化音；
and the的連接過度；
success of的輔元連讀。
語法和習語
We observe today not a victory of party but a celebration of freedom這裏的observe A (as) B就是把A看做B的意思。原文中嵌套加了not but的句型；
whether it wishes us well or ill我們把這裏翻譯爲不管他們安得好心還是壞心，直接的意思就是不管他們盼着我們好還是盼着我們病；
pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe都是非常好的詞語搭配，平時我們用的機會很多，但總想不起來的那種；
light our country and all who serve it這個部分中light是動詞，後面的our country和all都是light作用的對象，辨析句子的時候需要注意解剖句子結構；
the glow from that fire can truly light the world熊熊火焰的光芒將照耀全世界，非常具有畫面感的句子；
ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country這句話就更不用說了，在大量的影視作品動畫片中被引用或改造後引用。
